New range of T and VL electric motors with efficiency IE3

It is interesting knowing that about the 50% of the electric energy produced in Europe
is used by industries and that the drives are responsible for 2/3 of this energy consumption.

The International Standard IEC 60034-30/31:2008 classifies the energetic efficiency level as follows:
IE1 - Standard efficiency (comparable to eff2)
IE2 - High efficiency (comparable to eff1 or EPAct’92)
IE3 - Premium efficiency (comparable to EPAct’05)
IE4 - Super premium efficiency (under Project…)

Therefore the following electric motors are concerned about:
- Three-phase AC motors 2-4-6 poles, 50 or 60 Hz
- Power between 0,75kW and 375kW
- Supply up to 1.000V
- Continuous duty S1
- Working conditions up to 1.000 mt. altitude a.s.l. and temperature range 15°÷40°C
- From 16 June 2011 / 0,75 ÷ 375 kW / IE2
           1 January 2015 / 7,5 ÷ 375 kW / IE3 o IE2+inverter
           1 January 2017 / 0,75 ÷ 375 kW / IE3 o IE2+inverter

While the following are excluded:
- Motors for atmosphere potentially explosive (ATEX), as defined in the directive 94/9/CE
- Brake motors
- Double poles motors
- Single-phase motors

STM team proposes the new range of T and VL electric motors with efficiency IE3 obtained by:
· Optimization of the winding design
· High performances material
· Reduction of the working temperature
· Loss reduction
· Friction reduction
