STM since 1976.....
Year 1976 is not only a date for S.T.M. It represents the starting of a small company that is today an important reference point in the mechanical transmission field, thanks to the entrepreneurial capabilities (from foundation members Girotti Tiziano, Vignoli Altero and Lucchini Giuseppe), expertise and firm commitment of the promoting partners.
S.T.M. over 90' has turned from a craftsmanlike expression into a big industrial company specialized in the design and manufacturing of speed reducers.
S.T.M. is nowadays well known in national and international markets in which has reached a respectful position.

In 1998 S.T.M. achieved ISO 9001 Certification, with the aim to grant a good quality system for the different market needs.
Today S.T.M., using modern design systems and high-tech production machinery (working centres, gear cutters, and sophisticated grinding centres), can offer a wide range of speed reducers, electric motors, mechanical and electronic variators.

S.T.M. creates standard or personalized products according to the market requirements and to the customers needs.
The need of a more and more efficient and effective structure as for human resources, rooms and production space, has urged S.T.M. to widen the company surface currently to 70.000 sqm, of which 45.000 indoor, in 6 plantes.

S.T.M. wish to be competitive and to strengthen presence on the market as the result of the acquisition of GSM S.p.A. (in 2000), an important company manufacturing high power gearboxes and geared motors and from 2006 the starting up of STM Drive S.r.l. which, relying on more than twenty years of experience in automation field, manufactures inverters and drives for any needed power.

Today S.T.M. team offers one of the widest products range in the power transmission field, employs 250 persons and reaches a sales turnover of more than 70 Million EUR all over the most important national and international markets.
